Looking for advise

Post by Paul45 » Thu Aug 16, 2012 6:16 am

I bought a 350 dozer, gas engine, with reverser, six way blade, with a power winch as a parts machine mainly for the six way blade.
This dozers gas engine would crank but not start when i looked at it and the guy I bought it from had the cluthes out to rebuild but lost interest and sold to me. I put finals on without cluthes to transport home.
I had someone with a tilt back truck haul it home. when i got it off the truck the engine fire right up and runs better the my other dozer. I tried the winch and found out the reverser has to be engaged and the winch works great. Can I assume the reverser works because it operated the winch?
I had planned on putting the six way blade on my other 350 dozer that has a maual tilt and angle. The advise I got from this form is the six way blade would be to heavy and hard on my dozer.
The machine is all there but paint is rough, sprockets and chain have life left in them and rollers are ok, six way balde works well, tee handle controll could use some bushings.
My question is what to do? repair cluthes and sell or part out machine?
How much demand is there out there for 350 parts?
As i said engine starts and runs great with NO smoke, Hdy are strong, power winch works good. What can I expect to get for components if i part it out? I welcome your advise and Thanks you ahead of time Paul :D
thanks Paul

I think the last thing I'd be doing is parting it out.
Can't be that much to fix the clutches, do some work with it and sell it. Maybe take the better undercarriage off your other one, make 1 nice one out of the 2 and sell the other.
