looking for a 450b service manual..., and clutch questions

if anyone has a 450b service/shop manual they're looking to part with i am need of one. i found one for a crawler loader one on repairmanuals.com but i'm not sure if there is a separate one just for the dozer, which is what i need if there is such a thing. i already have the tech. manual but this is obviously short on disassembly/repair instructions.

also, the clutches didn't free up after about 20 minutes of pushing against the base of a big jack pine but i just want to see if anyone has any other advice to get them loose before i try to get them out of the machine. it looks like i might be biting off more than i can chew but am going to give it a shot if there is no other solution.

I guess if you are down to tearing it apart anyway, it wouldn't hurt to try and pour some water in the clutch housings (with housing drain plugs removed) to see if you can free up any gunk or rust on the fiber and steel discs. Water is actually a pretty good solvent and would not foul the fiber discs like a petroleum-based solvent if you got them free. You would probably need to try freeing them after adding water by pushing on a tree as you did before while working the steering levers.

Just a thought.

thanks for the reply. we already have it in the shop and have the tanks and instrument housing taken off so i think i should maybe just keep going with it and take the clutches completely apart. do you know what to look for when i get them apart to tell if they are still in good shape and what can be done to clean them up for reassembly if they are? also is there any way we can separate the track ourselves or do we need a service truck to come out to push out a pin? i used to work on track vehicles in the army but this it totaly different animal.
