JD 350 Steering Clutch Replacement Attempt

Post by Bill McGee » Fri Mar 05, 2010 9:10 am

Well I'm getting ready to rebuild the right steering clutch on a 350 Dozer , I've been reading your blogs and have a deere Service Manual , I've never done one before , but think I can handle it . The unit is a Gov't surplus with 1386 hrs. on it they said the clutch was sticking and they wore out the brake band trying to release it . I;ve used it several hours but its hard to get the brake to hold to turn and especially going down steep hills , then when the clutches get hot they slip and want pull on that side . I got it to use on food plots in extreme mountains here in Arkansas , it has a 3 pt. hitch and pto so it will be my tractor more than a Dozer . I lost one of the Draft Links on the 3 pt. p/n at20512t if anyone has one . Its the pull arm ( end piece ) on the hitch .
I'lol be in touch if I need advice and will need to locate parts.
Thanks :)
