I want one of these for Christmas Santa!!
Just what I need now PLEASE someone get me this for Christmas as the wife would rather get me committed instead .Look up John Deere 764 HSD my Deere dealer didn't even know what I was talking about till I showed him one now he is off to get a dollar value$$ .Digitup
They used a blade off a 700 dozer at first but the last several units have a speck built blade .Deere didn't get the rights for the quad track design for the Ag tractors so I guess the High Speed Dozer or HSD as it is referred to isn't considered a tractor .I was looking at this as a nice weapon to put a drainage plow on .They still haven't gotten back to me with traction pull specks .But I would like to see around 70,000 pounds pull .Digitup.
Well I won't find one of these under the tree any time soon .A Quad track has more pull but then a lot more in the HP department as well .This unit has less than 50%of the tractive pull I was hoping it had but I think it would only work nice on the flat ,smooth and dry going. The track system is made by Camoplast in Montreal same as the Case quad tracks and the ASV skid steers undercarriage .As for price I could buy 2 new 650Js loaded and still have enough money left over for a new 4x4 pickup as well . I don't expect to find this under the tree this year .Digitup.
not under a small tree anyway,,, i saw the video on this, it shows a high speed mode which is not true,, i read the top speed is about 16mph,, compared to the video showing about 40mph.
but imagine if the troops had a military version of this, they could be clearing "debris"(heehee)as fast as they could make it. add a few missles and such for the tough objects,,
