Brake Rod

I'm trying to adjust my brakes and steering on my 1966 450 crawler, and I've run into some problems, my first one is I broke the bolt that goes to the bell actuator, hopefully I can get it out, my second problem is the left brake rod does not have enough thread to put the yoke in the right position, but something else must need to be adjusted because I'm sure the way the rod came from the factory should be correct. If anyone has had any success with adjusting these please let me know what I'm doing wrong.
