It kind of depends on what the rest of the crawler looks like. IF it is a good overall crawler, then you just need to find another engine. IF the rest of the crawelr is junk, then probably not worth it.
Another factor is whether you have the ability and/or inclination to work on it. If you like a project, and can do the work yourself, no problem. If you need to hire the work done, you might get upside down in a hurry.

A small problem like a rod peekin out of a block every so often is a bit expensive but not near as bad as if it were in one of those Cats .Definetly a good deal if you can get a motor cheap that little 3 cylinder isn't all that expensive and they are a real little charm to have around to spread some gravel with or landscape with anyway .If the rest of the crawler is in good shape you can save your Cats for show and use your Deere for the work instead those Cats are colectors items at this point .That is how I got into my Oliver&Cleatrac's I took the 120c and swamp pads in one weekend and dug a pond in a swamp hole .He couldn't push slop with his 0c3 or the Cleatrac so I went home and got the 350D widetrack .All I had to do was unload it and this old guy did all the rest of the work with it and gave me the crawlers for the pond job and he is the only person to run it since .They are a great little machine and real good on fuel compaired to the bigger Deeres .Digitup.
