Parting our my gas 440

The 440 is sold. I have nothing left of it.

What year 440 is this?

I have looked all over it for a serial number but can not find one.

this year might be determined by answering a simple question,,
how many speeds are on the tranny?
4=58,5=60

If it is a diesel, serial number is on the dash, gas on LH side of bellhousing by dediment bowl.
4 or 5 speed was an option on all years of the 440.

The tag is missing. I see where it was. Are there any other ways to tell what year it is?

The late 60's had a different final drive case.
Also some of the 60's had the throttle in the center of the dash instead of top left corner.
There's a few other things but I'll let Lavoy or someone chime in.
Main thing that concerns me is your final drives, I need a pinion gear for a late 60 gas.

Is there a dipstick on the LH front corner of the trans? If so, then at least above 448,000.

I should have new late gas pinion gears available in a month or so.

There is a transmission dipstick in the left corner and it is a 5 speed.

Because I have had several people contact me about buying the whole machine I will price it at $1800 for what's left at this time. It is missing the tracks , sprockets and blade. Everything else is still attached and still running so it can be checked over to your satisfaction before purchase. .
