This is my first post on this message board. I have been reading post for a couple weeks and have found them very informational. I recently bought a 440 IC with a stuck motor. I know the person i bought it from and he drove it into a shed where it has been stored a few years and now the motor is seized. I tried to PB Blaster in the cylinders with no success. I cant imagine it is that stuck but this is my first Crawler so i am a rookie. Any suggestions in how to free the motor before i tear it down? How hard is it to tear the head down? What should i look out for? What should I replace? I have bought and read the manual for it. I also read relevant topics on this massage board.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
440 IC Motor Seized
#1 - buy the Service Manual.
#2 - download the free Parts Manual.
#3 - the engine is simple to work on - no surprises - parts are available.
#4 - be certain you have a stuck engine and not a starter problem or that the engine is not decoupling from the drive train.
Welcome and enjoy your project. Gil

Both are inside arms. Both have 8A winches; one complete except fairlead and one in pieces. I am looking for a fairlead and advice on resurfacing the grouser shoes.
