Hey all!
I just bought my first John Deere. It is supposedly a 1958 440 IC. Unfortunately, I have not had the time to go over the crawler in any great detail.
For the most part, it runs well and does all the things it appears it should do. I am certain that I will get into a bunch of maintenance and replaceing of parts once I figure out what they all are!
I am interested in both appearance and functionality of this crawler. I will be using it on our small farm in Southern Alabama.
I would greatly appreaciate advice and help from the mebers on this board as I go along.
Thanks!
Robert A. Grier

Robert,
Welcome to the board. congrats on the 440 IC. I personally believe the 440's are the best of the JD 2 cylinder crawlers.
This board is a wealth of knowledge. Also, Lavoy that ownes the site sells many parts.
