Hydraulic Adjuster, 1010c - salvageable?

Post by reedgmi » Sat Mar 22, 2025 3:35 pm

Trying to figure out if this adjuster can be salvaged with new seals? Are there any specs for bore / rod diameter?

There's a taper wear to the bore, from ~2.36" at the bottom, to 2.42" at the top.
The bottom is relatively clean, the top is corroded and pitted
The piston rod is 2.31 to 2.34"

When the rod is pulled out lets say 2" from the bottom, it has some side to side wiggle - as expected with that taper wear.

What do you guys think?

Hone the bore, put on a new cup and it will in all likelyhood be fine. The rawhide cups are quite forgiving.

Cool!
Flex hone is OK, or with rigid stones?

I usually use a rigid, but I don't have a flex hone that small.
