Hello everybody,
I am looking for a transport solution that is suitable for John Deere 2010 Crawler.
Are there any pictures of the '60s, as the crawlers have been transported by road?
I would be glad if I could get suggestions for a possible self-construction here.
Many greetings from Germany
Siggi

Good afternoon-
Are you asking for the type of truck or truck/trailer combination that would be used to transport a 2010 crawler, or something else?
2010 crawlers, especially a bare crawler or crawler with the dozer blade, are light enough that there are a number of options for highway transport which could include a rollback tow truck or flatbed trailer towed by a medium duty truck. Depending on attachments, they can weigh anywhere from around 9,000 pounds to 17,000 pounds give or take- I don't have the exact specs right in front of me.
My first 2010 crawler loader with backhoe attachment was delivered to me on a 25-foot dual tandem axle gooseneck trailer behind a 3/4 ton pickup truck- not my recommendation for truck size but was done. My third (2010 crawler dozer) was delivered to me on a 20 foot medium duty rollback tow truck with gross vehicle weight rating of 26,000 pounds.

Hi,
I read that as wanting photos from back in the 60s showing how they were transported when new. Like maybe from a dealership.
I know my uncle had a fairly large Studebaker service body truck with a flatbed trailer. Trailer was dual axles with dual tires. Truck was pretty big, like the IH trucks of the day or a Chevy C60. I do not recall the gross combined weight rating. I know the truck engine packed it in around 1970, but they used the trailer with another truck until about 1980.
Dad snagged the transmission and used it on this huge split bed lathe they got at auction with no drive. That was used mostly for big flywheels. A four-speed lathe!
The entire back end of the truck was cut loose and turned into a trailer itself as it had this really big welder/generator in the center bed section. And, an air compressor and a gas axe to boot.
I think the replacement truck that pulled that trailer was a Ford F900. He also bought this really big Ford L8000 rollback with 30 foot bed, tandem axle with a pneumatic tag. It would load 40,000 flat, 30,000 tilted and 20,000 with the bed all the way back lying flat on the ground. I have never seen another rollback like that one.
But, no pics, though. At least not of the Studebaker he had when the 2010s were new. I might have some of the L8000 packed away on analog memory strips (aka film)....

Hello everybody,
just something I'm looking for. When that has been delivered in 2010 at the time, there were also accompanying transport to get from site to site.
To search for something out of that time, I wanted to ask you whether you have photos of that time, which should be uploaded here.
Thanks for your support
