Hello everyone, new to the crawler world, but not to the two cylinder world. I have always wanted to add a crawler to my collection. It would be used for a an occasional plow day, taken to some shows, and possibly an odd ball task here or there just to have an excuse to get it out of the barn.
My question is, should I steer clear of an MC crawler? I don’t seem to see manny of them so I was concerned that maybe they are not desirable. I have the opportunity to purchase a running and driving one that has an original front blade and he also put a three point hitch on it that came from a 420C.

Re: MC Crawler
Hi,
Well, the MC has limited usefulness v a 420 or later. Or, even a 40. Three roller, so really meant just for drawbar work. Or, that toolbar they had for it. If you put a blade or a bucket on front, it is too front heavy.
The 40 added 4-rollers and the 420 5-rollers. So, a 61 blade on the 4-roller or a 62 blade on a 5-roller. And more power to go with the 5-roller. And, then a water pump on the 420 as the M and 40 tend to heat up at times when really working them.
Finally, we get to the 440 where we get more power again and a PAT blade with the 64. Plus, the 5-rollers are a better match for a loader.
I would like an MC to go with my M wheel tractor now that I have no 420 or 350 around. The idea of going to shows with it being the main use, but it would come in handy at times to help pull out neighboring stuck compact tractors.
