About 45 years ago, a JD dealer made a scan of the gauge to set the finger height of the pressure plate on the steering clutches. I made one with a piece of hardwood and a screw in the middle. I am about to tear into one of the clutches on my tractor and would like to know that my shop made gauge is correct. Does anyone either have a gauge that they could measure the clearance on the center point or tell me what it is supposed to be. My next job is to find the one I made after 45 years and moving. The gauge is about 12" long with flat sections on the ends and the middle is shorter. If there is printing on it, that would be helpful.
As an update, I can NOT find my "gauge" Any help would be grateful. What I really need are the dimensions and a photo or a "scan" of a gauge. I have been into this clutch before and I know that I got something wrong. I have the dimensions for "stack height" pf the plates and steels but the throw out bearing comes in the wrong place.
Thank you.
