Last Saturday, My son and I were on a trail on my property. The crawler has been working fine and then my son went to move the crawler and the left side track started to come off. I noticed that the spring head was missing and we found it on the trail. I bumped the track on in reverse and I was able to back off tension bolt and seat spring over bolt with the spring head but now I have to seat the spring head back onto the square assembly which goes across the mid section of the track. I'm not sure how to do this. I am open for some help so I can lock spring into place and tighten bolt and proceed to operational status.
Thanks,
RHT

If this is a 3-roller 40C then you should have two springs on each track. Tighten the track with the other spring (you may have to nudge it a little if it binds), then loosen the adjuster of the spring that came off. You may have to compress the spring some to put the fork back in depending on the condition of your track. Tighten that spring, and then balance the two springs so the idler runs true. Alternative is to split the track, which has a master pin somewhere.

Thanks for the information. I have my crawler on the third level of my property and will take my tools up with my quad and follow your recommendations. Does that square bar that is midway across both tracks have to be perpendicular to both sides and/ or equidistant from a specific point on both tension bolt heads on both sides?

No, but a good place to start. The important thing is for the track to run true on the front idler. Tighten both springs until the track tension is good and you think both springs are pushing evenly. Then drive forward about ten feet on level ground, stop without touching the clutches or brake, and see if the track is centered on the idler. If not, loosen one spring tighten the other side. Then test it again. It will run to the side that is too tight.

Feedback over Spring Issue
Thanks for the help in walking me through the spring head re installation process. The recommended process worked fine and now I am close to having both tracks run true .
