440 steering clutch trouble
Steering clutch trouble on my 440ICD. Had both sides apart. Back together with 8/7 plates. Left side works fine. Right side has power to the track, good brake action but the steering clutch will not halt power to the track. I have received the clutch fingers adjusting tool and if I need to disassemble again I will adjust the fingers. I think my problem is in the throwout bearing adjusting collar. Any suggestions.
I have 2 440s a 440ICD one about ready to run and a 440IC for parts
Both are inside arms. Both have 8A winches; one complete except fairlead and one in pieces. I am looking for a fairlead and advice on resurfacing the grouser shoes.

So when you pull back on the right lever the engine strains or dies? That is what would happen if the brake was engaged but the clutch was not releasing. You may have some slop in the linkage and adjusting it by the book may look correct but not be releasing the clutch enough or soon enough. Try moving the throwout bearing carrier closer to the pressure plate fingers. Gil
