1010 hydraulics
I'm new to the dozer, I have recently purchased a JD 1010, When I bought the machine the hydraulics worked fine. I've put 11 hours on it, and now the blade won't stay up, and if you push the blade down, it will not lift the dozer( it did this no problemo when I bought it). It was a little low (16 ozs), and when I refilled, it still wouldn't lift the dozer. She's definitely leaking, but there is no visible outside leaking, other than around the hydraulic lever housing, and it doesn't seem to be 16 ozs worth. Is there a way to determine where the leak might be? I can unhook the hoses on my JD 2 cylinders, to see if the cylinders are leaking, but they have quick connect fittings. Otherwise what else should I be looking for? Would over filling the hydraulic reservoir, allow the dozer to lift itself up? Thanks Jim
If it happens gradually as the oil heats up, sounds like a weal pump. Also, if someone has used a multi-trans fluid like Hy-Gard instead of regular hyd oil, it will cost you some pressure.
Also check for leak in the suction line just in case.
If you have a hyd pressure gauge, you can hook it to one of the couplers and check the pressure cold and hot to see the difference.
