Governor shaft seal 440IC

Pulled the shaft from a governor for cleaning and find that the leather seal is falling apart. I measured the shaft and it measures .435 the part number in the book says the ID of the seal is .375. Anybody find a more modern seal to fit this application? How about repairing the wear on the housing shaft side? Thanks AdamP
