100 log arch-whats it worth?
hello all, i dont normally ask this, but dont know who to ask. i have what i believe is a model 100 log arch for a 1010. it might also be a model 3600 as they look identical. i have a guy that wants it bad and i dont know what its worth. i paid 1000 for it a few years ago. i told him 1500. is that a fair price, or did i ask too much. thanks

Andrew-
A fair price is what ever you would be happy with. It's your arch and no one else's. I have no idea what a log arch would go for but if you feel that you would do ok with 1500.00 let it go.
Different locations will bring different locations for anything so it's really up in the air. A snow mobile to me is worth about 3 cheese burgers at a fast food joint since we rarely see more than 3" at a time. It's all relative.
Just my $.02

Jimmy,
Now, you know, a crawler makes for a right fine snowmobile. I used to play with mine in the snow a lot when I lived Up North. It's a real hoot to be on the trail on a crawler when your buddies come around that corner on sleds and see that big ol' blade staring them in the face! :p

Yup,
A bunch of ice skates is what you have when you get sideways, for sure. That's why mine has ice caulks, which are like spikes that replace the pad bolts for that little extra grip on ice. They don't have much use these days in NC, but they were quite worthwhile back up in the mountains of NY state.

...maybe I was a little hastey...
Jimmy,
Maybe I was a little hastey about that snowmobile.
Come to think of it, I did have a blast this winter with the couple of noreasters we had. Although the snowmobile probably screams down the trails, when it gets stuck in a ditch you still have to pull it out by hand.
Stickin' a Gearmatic on the back would probably slow it down to the speed of my 440 anyway.
Although I haven't done the east-west thing yet, the 440's done very well in the white stuff. Sorry Jim, if it's any consolation, I'm probably saving you from a heart clogging, slow, painful death. I burned the pass.
Scott
p.s. If you're really lacking the white stuff, you could alway tie a rope to one of the skis and the rear bumper on one side of the sled and dress some trails with it.
