I am about to begin pulling off both final drives to replace at least the bearings on the LH side (sprocket sits at about 10 degrees out of plumb) and for sure the steering clutch on the RH side. My question is, would it be wise / easier to first remove the entire loader assembly. It looks like by pulling (2) inch & a half dia pins and (2) bolts per side plus (4) more bolts per side (rear tool carrier) and I can pick the whole works up and drive the 1010 out from under it. I can use my 350B crawler loader for the lifting part as needed. Now is the time to make the call while I can still drive it out of the shop to pull the loader off. I'm trying to evaluate what parts I need so Lavoy can bring them to the Gathering next month and save me some shipping. You'll be there won't you??

1010 Crawler / Loader
Pulling the loader will be a little bit of a pain, but a big help in the long run. When it is off, you can also check hyd hoses and sudh.
I am not going to make the Gathering this year. With the shop remodel, I am way behind on restorations, so it looks like I will not make any of the March shows at all. I am planning on going to the Polk auction, but that is about it until LeSeuer in April.

Lavoy:
Is there a tech manual from Deere that shows the proper method to remove this loader? The manual I have (came with the crawler) appears to have come right off a Deere dealers shop floor it has all the tabs showing where things are and it's nice but ____. The book says it is for a 1010 Crawler Loader but there is nothing specific about the loader and all pictures show just the crawler. I also have the parts book for both the loader and the crawler. If I knew what the book name or number was I'd call the 800 # and order one. Just want to be sure I get the right one.
Thank you,
Jim
