Need a MC axle shaft

Post by Denis in MI » Tue Aug 18, 2009 2:23 pm

I posted on here last winter that my MC was not getting power to the left track. After finally getting around to tearing it down I discovered why. The left axle shaft was twisted in two. I have called several salvage yards in my area but none can come up with one. One Idea a friend of mine had was taking it to his machine shop and counter boring the shafts to accept a pin and welding back together, but I wonder if it would be strong enough considering I still want to use the crawler.

Any comments appreciated,

Denis,
I have an MC axle that I don't need. The splines look good but the seal
area should be welded and turned. It might seal like it is but it definitely
is not NOS.Send me a PM if you are interested.JimAnderson

Is the axle you need a 6 spline or a 3 spline axle? I have a good 6 spline.
