JD 2010 oil leak

Post by Ron » Sat Sep 17, 2005 8:37 am

I am repairing a 2010C(S#48100) that has set idle since 1994, i had to rebuild the right final drive. After getting the engine running i was running the crawer back and forth to get things loosened up. Every thing was working fine. Then an oil leak started out of the trans. somewhere under the machine. Are there any rubber coupled lines(maybe cooler) No visible leaks from blade lines, i dont have any manuals Any ideas before i pull the belly pan?

Ron,
First thing to check is the oil cooler lines from your transmission filters to the heat exchanger under your radiator. Check full length for leaks. There are also some short lines that run along the right side of the transmission. You can pull the foot rest to get a look at them.
Lastly, on the hydraulic pump (mounted on the front of your transmission) there is an external line on it. I've heard that it can be serviced without pulling the engine, but I've never tried it.
Hope it's something easy.
Brian
