Re: JD 350 Straight - New to Me - Now What?

I checked with the dealer; the kits are no longer available, so it looks like I'm going to rebuild it, or buy a complete one so I can still use the machine while I'm' rebuilding another one.

Thanks

Scott

Re: JD 350 Straight - New to Me - Now What?

My 6-way blade joystick and linkage are real loosey-goosey. If anyone has a complete one (or good component parts) they can sell, please let me know.

Re: what is low pressure for a track grease gun

I'm far from an expert, but there are a lot of folks posting about the requirement for a low-pressure grease gun here and Yesterday's Tractors. Here's an example - http://www.jdcrawlers.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?t=12163 I'm using JD Grade 0 corn head grease in my low pressure gun for the roller...

Re: what is low pressure for a track grease gun

The Alemite 4015 A4 is the one you want - name brand and 1,800 psi. The best price I found was here - https://www.autotoolworld.com/Alemite-4015-A4-Grease-Gun-16-oz-1800-PSI_p_380203.html The problem with auto tool world is that they don't send notifications or shipping info and don't answer the pho...

There is no zerk in the blade angle pivot pin according to the 6305 parts catalog.
I saw that as well, but it just seemed like a good place for a zerk and the hole looks like it may be threaded. I guess I need to clean the hole out and see if I can tell where it goes.

BTW i subbed to your you tube channel, nice to see home shop methods to do things, i had never investigated how to do magnaflux.
Thanks. I hate going to the machine shop for stuff that I can do at home.

I'll be posting a video on my 350 at some point in the not-too-distant future.

Re: Military Surplus JD 350 Straight

Bidding is all part of the game and i would have felt bad taking this from them for 1300 lol besides i picked up a friend out of it so all is good. my center pivot does not have a zerk fitting in it. how much play up and down do you have? Well, I would not have felt bad about getting it for cheap, ...

Re: Military Surplus JD 350 Straight

ok Bulletpruf, have it your way, i got to thinking about it and before i spend a lot of money on electrical rewiring, i should check out the other important (read expensive) sub assemblies. So with fire extinguisher at hand and the hood off so i could put out any fires that may pop up, i started it...

Re: Military Surplus JD 350 Straight

ok here is mine: ok how do you insert photos on this site? Anyway, I have not moved it or run it too long, the real work on this 350 is going to be electrical, looks like they had a good mech go over the mech components but he was sloppy/un-educated as to electrical. The main electrical connector b...

Re: Military Surplus JD 350 Straight

i stuck a camera into the tank and there is a bit of growth in it as well as a little rust, i will be dumping the fuel before running it, the tank has been moved back about 5" so the ports may be more difficult to get to. I'm thinking that i will use the 350b as spares, i will look at the 6 way con...

if you could pleas post a photo of your 350 key, missing mine and do not know what they look like, amazon/ebay are filled with them but all different and no clear detail on exactly what is the correct one.
Ok, it's at the shop, so I'll have to remember to take a picture of it.

Re: Military Surplus JD 350 Straight

never mind i found the info, it seems that the CBC pump was the earlier design and that rostamaster was sold to stanadyne who discontinued support for this pump, but this one was recently rebuilt/replaced, it is a different color so i assume that it was replaced so it should be good for a wile. als...

Re: Military Surplus JD 350 Straight

I have 350b manuals, it turns out that it was last used in 23, I was able to steer it with the clutches/ brakes while wenching it so the clutches are not froze up and the brakes are effective, may have dodged that bullet. I need to sort out electrical and I assume fuel but we will see On the fuel, ...
