Thanks! I see the tube and where it should come out at the bottom of the tank. I tried to run a wire through and it's blocked at both top and bottom. At the top there's something about 5" down and the underside is blocked right at the bottom with something tougher than mud. Is there some sort of pac...

Well I thinks the rotary coupling is the leak, or at least one. I torched the brake band as much as felt safe, cleaned it up and reinstalled it. I adjusted it per the manual then went out and hooked up to my local stationary object and crawled away. With the tractor in first and a little off idle it...

I set it to free spool for a minute or so and didn't see any drips. Once I get things cleaned up and back together we'll run it a bit to see if the leak can be found. The puzzling part is that the clutch pack is soaked to the middle but it was basically dry between the piston and pressure plate. It ...

550 fuel venting?
While I'm wrestling with my winch problem it occurred to ask about another brain teaser. How is a 550 fuel tank supposed to vent? I've had a rash of problems getting the machine to start after it sits overnight or longer. There would be air in the fuel system, usually the filter. Round about we disc...

Thanks for the suggestions. At $675 I will certainly try drying the brake band. I'm still not sure about the source of the oil leak. Evidence seems to point to the oil coming across from the drive side. The brake cylinder isn't leaking and the clutch piston looks dry but the clutch pack is soaked. A...

3325 winch internal oil leak, help!
The drum brake in the 3325 winch on my 550 has always slipped under heavy load. I'm getting ready to put an arch on it so I thought I'd check the adjustment. When I opened the housing I was disappointed to find a pint or so of oil. The brake band is obviously soaked. Now the question is where is the...

WTB 3600 logging arch
I'm looking for a 3600 arch to fit my 550. I tried skidding a couple logs and the winch alone isn't cutting it.
The closer to Ohio the better as shipping would be a killer.

355D information
There is a 355D crawler loader for sale locally and I haven't had much luck finding any information online, other than Deere's fact sheet for out of production crawlers. I'd appreciate any comments or details on the model. I assume it's a close cousin to the 350? Thanks.
