Re: 440 ICD engine in my 40c?

The 2-53 from a 440 has around 30% more horse power than a gas 40 engine. Its even hard on the upgraded 440 parts.

Is your 40 engine block cracked from freezing. If it is that can sometimes be repaired. “Stitching, Brazing and epoxy have all worked for me.

No idea where the set screw came from I believe if the drain hadn’t plugged the small main seal leak would hav...

Re: Welding Rebar on for grousers

Kolot
I have seen tracks with rebar welded on them. They seemed to work better than if they didn’t have any.
Warpage shouldn’t be a problem.

440ICD 602 Project.

I got this 440 in June of 2022. It was tired but with some adjustments and a handful of minor repairs it has been a work horse. http://jdcrawlers.lcent.com:8000/johndeere/albums/userpics/10056/IMG_0423.jpeg The clutch had started slipping so out came the engine. http://jdcrawlers.lcent.com:8000/john...

Re: Deere shed

We put up a Deere shed to have some shade and a dry outside place to work. http://jdcrawlers.lcent.com:8000/johndeere/albums/userpics/10056/IMG_1072.jpeg It didn’t take too long and a couple “Bucks” were locking horns. http://jdcrawlers.lcent.com:8000/johndeere/albums/userpics/10056/IMG_1091.jpeg

Nice it was the simple fix. I’ve done 2 sets of steering clutches in the last 9 months. About to do an engine clutch. Fun fun.
