1010 PTO question

We have another question about the transmission on our 1010 dozer. Is the PTO/power shaft supposed to turn at all times? We replaced the broken shifting fork and are quite certain we got it all back together properly, but it doesn't appear to go into 'neutral. If we have something wrong, will it hur...

We're about to start putting our little 1010 back together and realized that we're going to need a Transmission Rear Cover. Now the million dollar question is Can we get this entire mess of parts all put back together (without...

Oh oh........you went beyond my level of technology. "Reverser"...hmmmm..I know the book talks about some models having such a thing, but I don't think ours does. I hope I'm not being entirely stupid here.......I mean, of course we do have "reverse' gear....but I think I understand that the 'reverse...

Thanks guys!

I wondered about that shafty thing ....... the book sure didn't say ONE word about it! Hubby said maybe we'd have to remove the whole transmission to take it (the shaft) out.......PLEASE tell me that's not the case!!!

Ring Gear removal on 1010

Hey Lavoy, you helped us out with new clutches, brakes and bull gears for our JD 1010 dozer a few years ago, and now I'm back with another problem we'd like to ask your advice on. Some of the rivets on the ring gear broke. We have the machine torn down (following the service manual) and are at the p...
