Re: JD 350 weight

It depends if there is ROPS on it or not. Without your around 9000, with ROPS your around 11000. Thats the reason I never bought one! Too much for my truck and trailer. It also depends on what model 350 your looking at 350, 350b, etc. no chance that the ROPS weighs one-ton on a 350. a few hundred p...

minor update: still haven't had a chance to work on the 350b. however, i needed to move it out of the way for some other project. it has been "resting" since early december, and hasn't moved in that time. until yesterday. i drove it around, and both sides were driving fine. as before, the left side ...

thank you for taking the time (three of you) to answer my question. back out to diagnose today. i can see the axle rotate inside the clutch assembly. it appears that the clutch isn't completely engaging. this seems to eliminate the final as a culprit. by adjusting the linkage, i was able to get the ...

back out to the woods to attempt to diagnose the problem. "in gear", with the left brake/clutch lever applied, crawler doesn't move. the disc assembly doesn't appear to move, either, although when letting out the foot clutch, the right side "takes out the slack" in the tracks, but doesn't move any f...

yes, everything was working correctly. power to both, brakes work. i hadn't noticed any slipping, but that doesn't mean there wasn't any. i pulled the top cover, and the clutch assembly rotates when the machine moves. not sure whether it turns from just the machine moving (driven by the left side). ...

what did i do?

was using the 350b today. at some point, the right side track/sprocket became "dead", with no power. only the left side was providing drive.

i did utilize the search function prior to posting. virtually every one dealt with a frozen tensioner, which isn't my problem. the tensioner can be moved relatively easily with a jack or come-along. it won't stay tight, because grease escapes from the nipple. the relief hole issue i've solved. i fou...

solved the relief hole grease problem.

is it likely that the grease fitting has failed? or that something has contaminated it, preventing it from sealing? i suppose i can buy a new fitting and see if that works.

track tensioner

i've got an aftermarket undercarriage, a berco, for my 350b. i slipped a track the other day, and to get it back on, i attempted to collapse the tensioner (which worked). still couldn't get the track back on, since i was doing it by myself. i solved it by removing the master pin, and then could lift...

circa 1972 350b

no pics, so this is a "tell" instead of a "show". bought it last year, 6-way, with rops and brush guards. parked it in october and covered it with a tarp. finally got around to working on it last week. repaired an upper transmission "ear", then adjusted the left-side steering clutch/brake assy. fill...
