Checking to see if I have a bad steering clutch! Right steering lever, in order to get the track to disengage you have to pull the steering lever back and takes quiet some effort. 440 rod assembly (looking for)

Broke the lower ball joint off its threaded base that disengages the steering clutch. Looking for new rod assembly or just the ball joints.

Moving the level back and fourth seems to go nice and smooth, the dozer goes forward just fine.

440 Direction Reverser

Have a 440 That I just started up Wednesday 4-8-08. I noticed Thrusday when I had a good chance of some use, that when I use the direction reverser level in 2nd gear its normal speed then slows, then normal speed, then slows. All the gears work just fine, is there something with the direction lever....

I bought my first dozer this summer. Very exicted to get it, but this is what I found. The gentelmen that I purchased the dozer from had tighten up the tracks so tight that there was no play in them what so ever. Being a rookie dozer owner I though no big deal, and I would just fix it.
